Regina - A Happily Ever After Ending
Regina achieved impressive ratings with the final episode aired Thursday, June 18th, on ACASA. The series attained the leader position on the main three demos, according to GfK Romania.
The drama’s last episode brought to its admirers emotional moments with their beloved characters: Don Luciano (Dan Condurache) committed suicide after saying goodbye to everybody in the Gypsy Camp and especially to his sons, whom he had left under Cosmin’s protection; Zambila (Ioana Ginghina) saved Rubinu (Lucian Viziru) from prison by claiming he is Giani, her husband and her children’s father; Roza (Nicoleta Luciu) and Thierry (Cabral) recovered their children and regained their happiness.
State (Gheoghe Visu) was named “Fairy Man of Romania” for donating his gold to a charity foundation. Overwhelmed by sorrow and pain, he decided to continue his studies at Sorbonne University in Paris. Thus, the adventures of the Potcovaru family continue this fall with a comedy motion picture: State of Romania – Student in Sorbonne! The storyline will carry on new amusing experiences in the comedy spin-off State of Romania, which will air this fall on PRO TV.
The protagonists of the most-watched television programme, Regina (Diana Dumitrescu) and Cosmin (Bogdan Albulescu) got married in front of their families and friends. They won the most important and desirable thing they fought for since the moment they met: love!
Regina was an unbeatable competitor for all broadcasters as it achieved a 99% leadership with all episodes aired since September 2008 until its final installment, thus attaining the much-coveted title of Romania’s most-watched series.
The final episode held the leading position in audience terms, scoring 10.6 rating points and 28.7% market share on the All Urban demo, described by women and men of all ages.
The prime-time long running series also ranked first on ACASA’s favorite demo, urban women aged 15-49, achieving 12.0 rating points and a market share of 36.8%. The peak on the mentioned demo was reached at 10:18 PM when Promance International’s drama pulled in 15.9 rating/44.7 share, figures which prove that almost half of the women watching TV were enjoying the religious matrimony between Princess Reva and Cosmin.
According to GfK Romania, on June 18th at 10:17 PM, almost 3 million nationwide viewers were watching Regina, the phenomenon drama, enthralled by State’s announcement of leaving for Sorbonne University to continue his studies.
