Aniela- Sensation at Cannes
Adela Popescu, Diana Dumitrescu,
Mihai Petre and Ioan Isaiu, leading characters in
Aniela, the first Romanian costume drama, made a
powerful impression at the annual MIPCOM TV market and trade fair,
held in Cannes this fall. It is worth mentioning that this year's
edition celebrated its 25th anniversary and brought together
distributors, producers as well as TV and cinema personalities from
all around the world.
Aniela, Radu, Polixenia and Mitica, the characters of the show,
introduced the glamorous Belle Époque age to the entire showbiz
industry present at Palais des Festivals. They
managed to captivate everyone's attention with a spectacular
entrance and a unique show as Mihai Petre and Adela Popescu amazed
the select Cannes audience with their waltzing at a special
cocktail party held at Baoli, one of the most exclusive and stylish
clubs in the area.
This MIPCOM market also hosted stars like Jerry
Seinfeld, Lisa Kudrow or Gloria
Perez, the creator of the successful Brazilian soap-opera
The Clone, who acknowledged and saluted the
Romanian producers for their extraordinary work on the
"Aniela" series.

our stand were pleased to see the elegant settings, the locations
and costumes we used for the series. Speaking of MediaPro Pictures'
portfolio, we are happy to say that we are currently in negotiation
with a large number of territories from Central and Eastern Europe,
Slovakia and Poland to name a few. We have received signs of
interest from Spain, South America and Asia. We've closed a deal
with a VOD platform from UK and a commercial television from
