Regina outshines all timeslot rivals
Regina, the newest Promance International prime-time long running series, shows itself worthy of the name. Aside from being an absolute queen in terms of audience results ever since launch day, Regina managed to perform in the same high-term ranking during the post-launch period.
The series is the first Romanian sequel to be broadcast and revolves around the passionate story of mystery and romance between a blonde Gypsy woman and a former convict trying to make up for the deeds of his past. Needless to say, the familiar figures of Gypsy Heart - the Romanian TV hit from which the project originates - return to this new season to enchant viewers of all ages as they are confronted with new situations and new characters.
Regina premiered on AcasaTV on Monday the 29th, September 2008, at 8.30pm, making once again history on the Romanian television scene. Its strong premiere attracted more than 1.200.000 viewers and posted a 9.8 rating with a 27% market share, performing ahead of the competition with a 50% rating advantage over the second finisher, main television channel ProTV, and a 57% rating advantage over the third one, Antena 1. The first episode reassumed the lives of the most beloved characters form Gypsy Heart while introducing others equally impressive in the storyline.
Post-launch, Regina continued to leave no room for competition: night after night the series is the number 1 choice during the prime-time slot for viewers across the country with all important demographics, as can be seen in the following charts. According to GfK Romania, Regina broke its own record on 11th November being a leader on all key targets, the episode achieving the highest rating since its premiere. On the target represented by urban women with ages between 15-49, the episode scored 11.5 rating points and a market share of 28.2%.
Intrigues, romance, passion and mystery are the key ingredients of this season’s success.
